Onewheel From Garage To Market
Onewheel was founded from a simple idea: recreate the feeling of snowboarding and surfing on pavement. In 2008, Stanford engineer and former IDEO designer Kyle Doerksen began developing early prototypes from a California garage, combining custom-built hardware, self-balancing technology, and electric power to create a completely new riding experience. What started as an experimental project quickly evolved into Future Motion and the launch of Onewheel through a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014.
