Reno Nascimento
Growing up surfing daily in Brazil, Reno moved to the US when he was 13. You can find him in the water almost every day since. His experience in the water helps him get his students through the learning curve of an eFoil. He is passionate about helping you find the right ride and conditions so you can start enjoying your eFoil experience faster.
Board of Choice
I go with the 4'2" board. The smaller board is much more responsive, less flex, and a lot punchier during critical turns. This board was built for those with a little more experience.
32" Mast: The longer mast gives you more lift, moves higher, and more easily pushes through turns in the water.
Front Wing: The 150 Surf v2 is an excellent wing for the small board because its wobbliness enables sharper turns for a full-speed experience.
Back Wing: The 32 Glide v2 is small enough to provide control pumping through the water. It’s a great, reliable wing overall in the back.
Favorite Time: 7 or 8 AM when conditions are prime, the wind is minimal, and the glassy water provides more control and stability for ripping through the water.
Favorite Spot: Outside of Redondo Beach Harbor in King Harbor. The jetty by topaz is very calm and very clear.
For someone that's never surfed before, I was excited but nervous to eFoil. By the end of the lesson I was sure I had to come back. Reno was super helpful and dedicated to helping me enjoy myself on the water.

What to Expect During Your eFoil Lesson
Your lesson is designed to meet you where your skills are, even if you're a total beginner to water sports. Our instructors are trained to maximize your experience while ensuring your safety at all times.

What is an eFoil?
An eFoil is a surfboard with an electric propeller just above the wing of the hydrofoil. Its silent electric motor and rechargeable battery are controlled by a handheld remote via Bluetooth.

What equipment/gear do I need to have for my lesson?
None. We will provide you with a helmet, lifejacket, and wetsuit. You obviously can wear your own if you have them.

How hard is it to learn how to ride an eFoil?
No experience is necessary. We structure our lessons so anyone can learn how to eFoil. The goal of your first lesson is to go from laying down to standing to floating above the water on an eFoil board. If you have previous experience surfing, skateboarding, or snowboarding, you may expect to progress much quicker.

Where will my eFoil lesson take place?
Your lesson will be in King Harbor. This location is very calm and great for beginner riders.

What size eFoil board will I use for my lesson?
Longer eFoil boards are ideal for beginners as they are easier to stand up on and control. Our lessons are designed to get you comfortable fast so that you can move onto shorter, sportier boards in no time.
